You can assign colors to your codes in Delve. Colored underlines appear beneath coded phrases (snippets), making it much easier to visually organize and identify your codes at a glance.
Color coding your codes will create the following changes:
Sentences associated with a code are underlined in that code’s color in transcripts.
When you select a coded sentence in a transcript, the code tag at the bottom will reflect the chosen color.
The Codes panel to the right on the Transcript and Snippets page will also show the color associated with each code.

Two Ways to Change a Code Color
There are two ways to change code colors in the Codes panel:
Method One: Click the Color Bar
Locate the code in the Codes panel.
Click the rectangular color bar to the right of the code name.
Choose your preferred color.
Method Two: Edit Menu
Find your code in the Codes panel.
Hover over the code and click the pencil icon to the right.
Select Change Color from the dropdown menu.
Pick a color from the palette.
How to Update or Change a Color
If you want to switch colors, simply follow the same steps as above in the Codes panel. The new color will automatically apply to all snippets associated with that code.
Themes and Nested Codes
When you change the color of a top level theme, all codes nested underneath it will automatically change to match. Also, if you nest a code under another, it will adopt the color assigned to the parent.
After setting a theme color, you can still customize the individual nested code colors if you prefer. Just remember: if you later change the theme color again, it will overwrite all nested code colors until you reapply them individually.
Frequently Asked Questions about Code Colors
Q: Will the code colors appear in exports?
A: Code colors will only appear when you export a Transcript to PDF. The colors will show as underlines for the appropriate sentences. Code colors will not appear in any CSV, TXT, or Word Doc exports.
Q: What happens if a sentence is tagged with multiple codes with different colors?
A: Sentences with multiple codes will have multiple underlines in the different code colors.
Q: Is there a limit to how many code colors display at once?
A: Yes, only three code colors will display at once as underlines of the same section. If a sentence is coded with more than three codes, the first three applied will display unless you select the sentence.
Q: How can I quickly see all of one code in my transcript?
A: When viewing a transcript you can quickly see all the snippets associated with a code by hovering over a code tag below your content. Hovering will underline that code everywhere it is used in the transcript. The underline color will match the color assigned to that code in your codebook and temporarily hide underlines for other codes.
